DAY 1 WE’RE OFF!
We begin our journey to New England this morning—where white wooden churches, red clapboard houses, gray timbered barns, cranberries, maple syrup, and delicious seafood abound! Relax in our air-conditioned motorcoach, as we travel through the rolling hills of Wisconsin—taking our usual rest stops and luncheon break. Our accommodations this evening are at a fine Chicago area hotel—you are pre-registered and handed your room key—your escort has handled these details for you!

DAY 2 EASTWARD BOUND
Our day begins with a delicious buffet breakfast! Enjoy the company of the other passengers and play some of the fun-filled games provided on tour, as we travel through Indiana and Ohio. The day passes quickly—your escort provides history and trivia on the places we travel through. Tonight we stay near Youngstown, Ohio.

DAY 3 GOLDEN AUTUMN
The scenery is beautiful as we enter Pennsylvania this morning—orange, russet and gold hillsides are covered with maple, beech, and poplar! This is Pennsylvania Dutch Country—where the hearty, strong-willed people from Germany settled. Tonight we stay in Newburgh, NY.

DAY 4 OLD STURBRIDGE
A warm tradition awaits us today in the charming reconstructed early New England community of Sturbridge Village, Massachusetts. You may visit the Blacksmith shop, the Parsonage, the Sawmill, the Gristmill, or any of the other homes and shops throughout the village. Later today, we travel to the Westport, Massachusetts area, where we stay this evening.

DAY 5 THE BREAKERS
This morning, we travel a short distance to Newport, Rhode Island, where we tour the famous Vanderbilt Mansion, The Breakers. This afternoon, we will visit the Plimouth Plantation, where you may talk with pilgrims from 1626! We then travel to Plymouth, Massachusetts, and see the Mayflower II — a full scale replica of the original vessel that carried the Pilgrims to the New World, and Plymouth Rock—the spot where they actually landed in 1620. We will be spending the next three nights in Hyannis, right in the middle of Cape Cod!

DAY 6 NANTUCKET ISLAND
We leave Hyannis this morning for a cruise to the intriguing island of Nantucket. Become acquainted with the “Little Grey Lady” famous as the world’s foremost whaling port in the eighteenth century. You can spend a few hours browsing in the shops, enjoying the fine restaurants or just strolling down the cobblestone Main Street to view the Harbor Marina and the whaling mansions. This quaint island of Nantucket is full of timeless attractions and the heritage of over 300 years of seafaring.

DAY 7 CAPE COD
Today we make the scenic drive to Provincetown located on the tip of Cape Cod. You will have an opportunity to enjoy the Cape in all its beauty today—white sandy beaches, crystal blue waves pounding on the shore, antique shops, art galleries, and some of the best restaurants in the Commonwealth! This evening we have planned an authentic New England style lobster dinner—enjoy delicious fresh lobster, clams, corn on the cob and more!

DAY 8 HISTORIC BOSTON
The lure of history draws us into Boston, Massachusetts this morning. We follow in the footsteps of Paul Revere, visit “Old Ironsides”—the USS Constitution, pause at the spot where “radicals” like John Hancock incited the colonists into revolution, and wander down cobblestone streets to the Old North Church and Faneuil Hall. The memories and monuments of a colorful past have been preserved — beside modern structures stand century old meeting houses! We overnight near Boston.

DAY 9 SALEM WITCHES
This morning begins with a short drive to Salem where the witchcraft hysteria reached its peak in 1692 when 19 citizens of Salem, Massachusetts were tried and hung for “conspiring with the devil” through witchcraft. This event is preserved at the Witch Museum that we visit this evening. Then, it’s on to Gloucester to view the famous Fisherman’s Memorial. We then partake in a delicious lunch along the coast compliments of PTS Tours. After lunch, we continue our travels through the White and Green Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. Tonight, we will spend our evening in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

DAY 10 LAKE PLACID
After breakfast, we stop at the Maple Syrup Factory in St. Johnsbury to sample the delicious maple syrup made by the Vermont natives. Later today, we cross Lake Champlain by ferry and enter the beautiful resort area of New York State. The hills are covered with fall foliage and are simply beautiful! Before long we arrive in Lake Placid — home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, where we will stay overnight. Take some time to explore this wonderful village nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.

DAY 11 THOUSAND ISLANDS
This morning we will journey through upstate New York to Alexandria Bay—located right on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Here, we will take a boat ride through the picturesque Thousand Islands and will be able to watch ocean going vessels as they pass. After our boat ride, we will enjoy a delicious dinner compliments of PTS Tours.

DAY 12 NIAGARA FALLS
Niagara Falls is on today’s agenda! We view the falls from the Canadian side, and take time to ride on the Maid of the Mist — a boat tour leading right to the base of the falls. Afterwards, we travel to our home for the night in Erie, Pennsylvania.

DAY 13 HOMEWARD BOUND
We begin our journey home today—relaxing as we travel through Ohio and Indiana. Our accommodations for this evening are in Rockford. Enjoy reminiscing with new friends about the fun of our New England tour!

DAY 14 JOURNEY’S END
We leave Rockford this morning, traveling north through Wisconsin. We make our usual morning rest stop and then lunch is on PTS Tours. Each fall when the leaves start to turn and the crisp smell of autumn is in the air, we will recall the charm and heritage of the New England countryside and our vacation with PTS Tours!
